Alloy Kitchen is the restaurant and bar at Mountain Lodge Telluride, the room you knew as The View. New bar, new booths, same view of the San Juans. Chef Lonnie Shepard cooks mountain food with a few flavors from farther off: ribeye, elk bolognese, trout, pork belly tacos, Himalayan dumplings. You don’t have to be staying here.
Our story
Named for the mix.
An alloy is two metals melted into one that’s tougher than both. Telluride has run that way since the mining days: miners and skiers, locals and whoever came up on the gondola, all at the same bar. We named the place for it. Nobody’s in a hurry to turn your table.

The pool deck
Heated pool, gondola overhead.
The pool and hot tub are heated, and the gondola goes right over the deck. Food and drinks come out from Alloy.
Sunday Rehab
The locals’ Sunday, through October 11. A DJ on the deck from 2 to 6 and happy hour all afternoon. Cure what ails ya.

The old mining camps called the head cook Cookie. Ours is Lonnie. He cooks for people who spent the day outside, so the portions are big and he doesn’t rush the gravy. Start with the short rib.
